Malaysia to start cloud policy at the Asean AI summit
Malaysia will introduce its national cloud computing policy (NCCP) 13th August during the Ai Malaysia 2025 (AAims25) Summit.
This policy outlines how Malaysia plans to improve its national cloud infrastructure, strengthen data management and speed up the adoption of the cloud in the public and private sectors. According to the General Minister of Digital Minister Fabian Bigar, the politician will be launched by digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo.
Fabian said NCCP should support wider pressure in the country into AI and digital technology. “As an basic activator for AI and digital innovations, NCCP sets an internship for a durable, inclusive and future of the digital economy,” he told reporters during the media briefing.
The AAIMS25 will act as a platform that shows how cloud and AI can work together to strengthen regional partnerships and create new digital opportunities in Southeast Asia.
It is expected that the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will present an introductory lecture on August 12. This event will also bring ministers from several ASEAN countries, Singapore and Cambodia together with the Secretary General ASEAN.
Fabian said AI Malaysia plans are built to integrate, innovation and integrity. With Malaysia, ASEAN chairs in 2025, and the country now hopes to expand its cloud vision in the region. This included closer cooperation in the field of AI, standards, talents and building a wider ecosystem.
He added that the effort fits into the wider ASEAN objectives, such as Asean Digital Masterplan 2025 and a Group Group on AI and Ethics. The presence of ASEAN Secretariat is expected to emphasize the importance of the summit and show strong regional support for AI cooperation.
The AAIMS25 goals include the common persecution of ASEAN Digital Minions to match the police, identify common priorities and agree on shared AI and digital management rules.
The summit will also build on existing efforts, such as AI Management Guide to AI and ethics, and AI responsible. The tools are transformed into regional events to help ensure that AI is used in a way that is safe, fair and responsible.
Fabian said that this event will also promote more public and private investments in AI, helping to increase the availability of technology. It also supports the development of regional test sludge or “quarantines”, where new ideas can be safely. Another goal is to expand the Aswan AI security network, which shares knowledge and proven procedures in the region.
More than 1,500 delegates are expected to wait for a two-day summit, including representatives of ASEAN, Timor-Leste, dialogue partners and a wider AI community.
The event will be connected by government leaders, global experts on AI and industrial voices for key notes, panels, cottages and round cottages. The topics will include digital confidence, management, infrastructure and AI policy.
The summit agenda is organized around the topics: Administration and Trust, Cloud Infrastructure and Sovereignty, Real -World Cases, Labor Skills and New Development Changes, such as Agent and Interoperability of System.
The highest creators of politicians, academic leaders and global AI experts are expected to contribute to these discussions, sharing research, politics and practical experiences.
